A Day with Martin Taylor: Music, Audio and Honest Feedback

Recently, I had the pleasure of travelling down to visit Martin Taylor, who had very kindly written a review of our products and invited us to spend the day with him to capture some video feedback for the website.
I made the trip with my friend Martin Windebanks, who helps me with video and photography. We flew from Glasgow to Southampton, hired a car, and made our way to see Martin. After staying nearby the night before, we spent the day with him, talking about music, audio, equipment, and the journey our products have taken over the past few years.
It turned into a really enjoyable and memorable visit.
Martin was fantastic from start to finish. He welcomed us warmly, gave his time generously, and when it came to filming his feedback, he was what I can only describe as a one-take wonder. He spoke naturally, clearly, and with real insight into the products and what he had experienced while using them.
For us, that kind of genuine feedback is incredibly valuable.
Martin is one of the founding members and administrators of The Audio Standard Forum, whose members have played an important role in helping us develop and refine our products. Since moving away from retail and into direct selling, we have relied much more on real-world feedback from people who actually use our products in their own audio systems.
That feedback has been crucial.
The members of TAS, many of whom are long time users of our products, were given an early opportunity to purchase and try the Next Level Grounding Feet before we began actively marketing them more widely. Their comments, experiences, and suggestions helped us understand how people were using the products in practice. It was through that feedback that we realised there was also a need for a grounding product designed for the top of equipment, as many people were already experimenting with placing weight on their components.
That insight eventually helped lead us towards the development of the Next Level Ground.
Spending the day with Martin was a reminder of how important these conversations are. Product development is not just about design, materials, or measurements. It is also about listening to people, understanding how they use the products, and learning from their experience.
We had a wonderful day talking about music, audio, and the wider community around it. It was also a real pleasure to capture Martin’s thoughts on video so that others can hear directly from him.
A shorter version of Martin’s feedback is included below, and for those who would like to watch the full conversation, there is also a link to the complete video.

I would like to give a sincere thank you to Martin Taylor for inviting us down, for his hospitality, and for taking the time to share his thoughts so openly.

I would also like to thank the members of The Audio Standard Forum for the feedback, encouragement, and support they have given us as we continue to develop and improve the products.
It was a fantastic day, and one I will remember very fondly.
