The Technics 1200 Project
How Black Ravioli's hi-fi grounding reduce noise and restore musical truth.
A vinyl record is essentially an acoustic instrument. Every groove carries the physical imprint of a performance. The microscopic landscape read by the stylus translates into music. It's a process established for over 150 years.

The world around it, however, has changed beyond recognition. Today's homes hum with interference — motors, switching supplies, wireless signals, RFI and EMI — and it all finds its way into your playback. Even a pristine record can't escape it.
The Record Ground was designed to change that. Rather than adding mass or pressure like traditional clamps, weights, pucks and stabilisers. It works through controlled coupling by grounding the record independently of the turntable and draining unwanted energy in real time. The result isn't just quieter playback. It's a stronger more emotional connection to the music, as though it's been lifted clean out of the noise floor and into the room.
To develop it we needed a reference-grade turntable. We chose the Technics 1200 series — an icon of precision engineering whose quartz-locked speed control, low-resonance chassis, and direct-drive motor have made it a benchmark in studios and listening rooms for decades. Transparent, honest, and responsive to the smallest change: exactly what rigorous development demands.
Working with the 1200 series shaped our entire Next Level range. Its energy pathways and 6mm threaded foot attachments directly inspired our dedicated Technics Grounding Feet — a screw-in replacement requiring zero modification. Through this work, our fundamental principles were validated and show that when energy is properly directed, music becomes more coherent, dynamic, and alive.
The Technics Project is both benchmark and tribute. Classic engineering meeting new thinking — and the foundation for everything Black Ravioli makes today.
